Welcome to the PACE instructor blog, a place to share some ideas, tips, resources, and comments around teaching at PACE. I’m hoping that these will lead to a discussion forum in the future to share ideas, address concerns, and reinforce best practices. If you have any suggestions for topics, please send them to me, or if you want to opt out of these communications be sure to let me know.
First though, let me introduce myself. As of February 13, I’m a part of the PACE staff with the title of “Academic Program Manager”. I work in the PACE office on the 2nd floor of the Buhler Centre. My role is to help you as instructors in developing your lessons, enhancing your delivery, and be a resource for whatever instruction related topics you need.
Before joining PACE in this position, I was a contract instructor for the past two years, teaching in a variety of programs delivering the Effective Oral Communication, Project Management Fundamentals, and Strategic Planning courses. I also worked briefly for the U of M’s Continuing Education office teaching recruitment and staffing as an online course. Full time, I was working for the Winnipeg Police Service for the past 28 years; the past 17 years a trainer on a part time and full time basis.
If you want to reach me, you can send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
